Growth that pays its way

New neighbors are welcome. Their schools, water lines and fire coverage should come with them.

The problem

When a big development is approved without a plan for schools and services, the cost lands on everyone already here, usually years later, as a tax increase or a bond referendum.

What I’ll do

  • Ask for a fiscal-impact summary on every rezoning over 100 homes, posted publicly before the vote.
  • Use development agreements to tie building permits to road, water and school milestones.
  • Review our impact fees, which haven’t been updated in years, so they reflect what services cost today.
